MIES

Professional engagement outlines

Choose the engagement, define the scope and export a structured Word outline.

Presentation

MIES standard web organises the contents of a professional deliverable around the engagement and its recipient. Select the relevant conditions to obtain an outline with section purposes, information requirements, practical checks and reference notes.

Perimeter

Twelve deliverables in nine families: valuation for capital transactions, treasury, restructuring, business plan, lender dossier, planning and budget, organisational arrangements, due diligence, valuation for financial reporting, purchase price allocation, projects and facilities, and generational transition. 12 deliverables · 9 generators · 486 content blocks · 454 coverage requirements.

Output

A configurable outline preview and an editable Word document. Calculations, Excel models and completed reports are not generated by this web version.

Use and limits

Use the outline as a professional reference. Source notes and limits remain attached to the selected contents; the output is not a certification of completeness or compliance. The interface and outlines are currently in Italian.

Availability

The standard web tool can be opened below. Word export loads its document library from jsDelivr; if it is unavailable, the outline preview remains usable.

Suite links

MIES provides the structure of the engagement within the COASE suite. Using other suite tools is optional; no automatic data transfer or report assembly between products is implemented here. The downloadable AI Knowledge Layer is a separate release candidate undergoing pilot testing.

References

References, editions, classifications and limits follow the selected family. Consult the notes in the generated outline; do not treat a reference as proof of current applicability.

PROUVE

Deliverable and model library

Provides worked reports and Excel models, with source datasets, calculation checks and adaptation guidance.

Perimeter

12 engagement families, 52 situations, 68 models, 175 modules. Worked examples reconstructed from engagement practice; no client document is distributed. A shared methodological corpus with MIES.

Reference standards

IVS 103 Valuation Approaches · IVS 105 Valuation Models · PIV · ICAEW Financial Modelling Code · FAST Standard

Presentation

A worked example becomes useful when its data, calculations and presentation can be followed together. PROUVE packages them as a single reference: the starting dataset, a functioning Excel model, the resulting exhibits and the report passages that interpret them. Each package records the assumptions, expected results and changes required to adapt the case. Complete deliverables illustrate scope and depth; individual modules support a specific calculation in an existing workbook. The corpus shares the structure and conventions of MIES and includes examples, calculation components and complete engagement packages.

Scope

Reusable reports, Excel models and calculation modules for M&A, valuation, financial modelling, FP&A, restructuring, project finance, transaction support, LBO, financing and debt advisory. Examples document a defined case; their methods, assumptions and conclusions require adaptation to the engagement.

Use cases

Starting a model, extending an existing workbook, preparing client exhibits, setting the depth of a report, examining an unfamiliar calculation, comparing methodological treatments, training and maintaining an internal reference library.

Features

  • Complete packages — dataset, model, exhibits and report supplied together, with consistent assumptions and a traceable progression from inputs to presentation
  • Worked reports — populated deliverables with analysis, methodological disclosures, limitations and caveats, available as complete documents or selected sections
  • Complete models — editable Excel files with live formulas, documented assumptions and a consistent separation of inputs, calculations and outputs
  • Calculation modules — self-contained blocks with defined inputs, outputs and dependencies, usable independently of the parent model
  • Specific analyses — packages cover normalised EBITDA, target working capital, enterprise-to-equity bridges, debt service, liquidity in distress and other engagement calculations
  • Case variants — alternative cases address valuation with incomplete information, non-recurring items, liquidity stress and conflicting conventions; methodological choices and their consequences are explained
  • Expected results — reference inputs and expected outputs accompany model checks, allowing the supplied example to be reproduced before adaptation
  • Adaptation instructions — concise guidance identifies which data to replace, assumptions to revisit, sections to amend and results to review
  • Input conventions — units, currencies, signs, periods and classifications stated explicitly; input fields distinguish case data from user assumptions
  • External integration — modules fit into third-party workbooks through documented input and output links, with convention checks and integration notes
  • Visible logic — formulas remain accessible; parameters are held in designated inputs, with no hidden calculation macros or hard-coded assumptions inside formulas
  • Client presentation — editable tables, charts and report passages for adaptation to the engagement and house style, retaining their connection to the underlying analysis
  • Technical documentation — specification, glossary, source register, usage conditions and known limitations accompany each model and module
  • Version and verification record — release identifier, changes, verification date, checks performed and unresolved limitations recorded for each published component
  • Selection — search by engagement family, situation, analytical question or calculation, with the required inputs and package contents visible before selection
  • Reuse rights — the licence permits adaptation and incorporation into client deliverables and states the conditions governing distribution and further reuse

Output

Example datasets. Report files. Excel models and independent modules. Exhibits. Adaptation instructions. Technical specifications. Version and verification records.

TANGE

Valuation engine

Calculates enterprise and equity value, with documented assumptions, sensitivity analysis and an editable Excel model.

Perimeter

Enterprise and equity valuation. User-supplied financials and external market data. Standalone operation with editable Excel calculation files.

Reference standards

IVS 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106 · PIV · IAS 36 · IFRS 13

Presentation

A valuation reflects choices about earnings, cash conversion, risk and the rights being valued. TANGE records those choices and computes their effect. Financial normalisations, forecast assumptions, comparables and discount rates form a documented calculation chain, from the source data to enterprise and equity value. Methods, scenarios and successive valuations are compared on a consistent basis. Changes in value are attributed to their underlying assumptions; an observed price is translated into the performance it implies. The professional selects the methods, resolves the disputed assumptions and determines the conclusion.

Scope

Enterprise and equity valuation of listed and unlisted going concerns, standalone entities, groups and controlling or minority interests. Dedicated IAS 36 impairment schedules.

Use cases

Acquisition and disposal pricing. Shareholder transactions. Fairness and expert opinions. Impairment testing. Restructuring. Litigation support. Third-party valuation review. Negotiation preparation.

AALTO

Financial data extraction and reclassification engine

Extracts, reconciles and reclassifies historical financial data, retaining source references and a record of adjustments.

Perimeter

OIC, IFRS and US GAAP XBRL/iXBRL instances. Excel and CSV accounting extracts. Assisted intake of PDF statements and note tables. Coverage specified by taxonomy version, source format and available disclosure.

Reference standards

XBRL 2.1 · Italian XBRL taxonomy (PCI) · IFRS · US GAAP · OIC 12 (Composizione e schemi del bilancio d'esercizio)

Presentation

A financial history must be consistent enough to analyse and detailed enough to trace. AALTO prepares that history from filed accounts and accounting extracts, retaining the source behind each figure. Original data, reclassification rules and analyst adjustments remain distinct. The same approved mappings apply across successive periods, while new or ambiguous items enter a review queue. Financial statements, trial balances and supporting note tables are reconciled before the historical base passes into valuation, planning or reporting. Missing information remains identifiable in the output.

Scope

Preparation of historical financial statements and management reclassifications for companies and groups. Combines statutory accounts, accounting extracts and supplied supporting detail within an explicit reporting perimeter. Accounting-framework differences and information gaps remain visible.

Use cases

Historical base for valuation and planning. Due diligence data preparation. Credit and counterparty analysis. Peer comparison. Portfolio monitoring. Multi-year and multi-entity analysis. Recurring updates of client accounts.

Features

  • Intake — XBRL/iXBRL facts, Excel and CSV trial balances and accounting extracts; assisted PDF and note-table extraction. Units and signs harmonised under recorded rules, with original figures retained
  • Source register — records entity, reporting period, document version, currency, unit and perimeter. Each imported amount retains its source location and the transformations applied to it
  • Statutory reconstruction — rebuilds the source statements before management reclassification, retaining reported line items, totals and the evidence required to investigate differences
  • XBRL context — checks QNames, contexts, dimensions, units and taxonomy versions. Separate, consolidated, comparative and restated facts are identified before a reporting series is assembled
  • Mapping — applies approved rules from source items to statutory and management lines. Proposed mappings remain outside the calculation chain until accepted by the user
  • Review queue — unmapped items, ambiguous matches, conflicting classifications, reconciliation gaps and missing information grouped for review, with source amounts, proposed treatment and effects on the statements
  • Reclassification — produces standard financial and management views from the same source base. Alternative presentations retain their contribution detail and explicit classification rules
  • Adjustments — keeps analyst adjustments separate from imported figures and mappings. Each adjustment records its amount, rationale, affected periods and effect on reported and adjusted statements
  • Period and entity alignment — builds multi-year and multi-entity series with checks for reporting dates, units, restatements and perimeter changes. Differences affecting comparability remain attached to the affected figures
  • Framework differences — records recognition, measurement and presentation differences identified during review. Cross-framework reclassification retains these differences and any separately approved accounting adjustments
  • Reconciliation — checks source totals, statement relationships, trial-balance ties and mapped contributions. Differences remain visible by source, period and output line
  • Information coverage — distinguishes between reported zero values, missing information and undetermined amounts. Unsupported management detail remains unavailable; the output identifies the additional information required
  • Mapping reuse — versions approved mappings by client and source structure. Subsequent imports reuse those rules and isolate new items and changed classifications for review
  • Quality assessment — assesses source validity, reconciliation and analytical detail separately. Configured scores accompany the underlying checks, exceptions and coverage limitations
  • Single calculation base — Excel and API outputs derive from the same approved data and rules. Each reclassified figure can be traced to its source contributions and adjustments

Output

Source and reclassified statements. Multi-year financial history. Contribution and adjustment detail. Mapping register. Reconciliation and information-coverage report. Excel. API.

Suite links

Works independently on external financial statements and accounting data. Supplies historical accounts to NERVI and TANGE, and source exhibits to MIES. Reclassification components shared with PROUVE. ANDO prepares confidential material where external processing is used.

PIANO

Financial model review and dependency mapping

Checks Excel formulas and financial model logic, maps dependencies and traces identified issues to affected outputs.

Perimeter

Read-only inspection of .xlsx, .xlsm and .xlsb workbooks, including linked models. Controlled recalculation uses a separate working copy and a declared calculation environment. The source workbook remains intact.

Reference standards

ICAEW Financial Modelling Code · ICAEW Twenty principles for good spreadsheet practice · FAST Standard · IVS 105 Valuation Models

Presentation

Review starts with understanding how a model's calculations support the decisions for which it is used. PIANO reconstructs the workbook's architecture, traces selected results to their inputs and groups related findings around their underlying cause. The reviewer can distinguish demonstrated errors from items requiring judgement, then record the evidence and resolution. Financial tests apply to blocks confirmed by the user. Where supported, controlled recalculation measures how input changes or proposed corrections affect outputs.

Scope

Structural and financial calculation review of inherited and internally developed Excel models. Tests are based on the declared coverage and definitions confirmed by the user. Assumptions, accounting judgements and valuation conclusions remain matters for professional review.

Use cases

Taking over an inherited model. Due diligence. Pre-delivery review. Independent checks of advisor and lender models. Model handover. Repair-versus-rebuild assessment. Version review. Verification of corrections.

Features

  • Architecture — maps sheets, calculation blocks and identified input, calculation and output roles. The reviewer confirms the model structure and the outputs within the review perimeter
  • Dependencies — traces precedents and dependents across cells, ranges, sheets and linked files. Interactive views isolate the paths relevant to a selected result or finding
  • Output exposure — connects findings to selected outputs, including cash, debt, covenants, value and returns. Static analysis shows downstream reach and the calculation paths involved
  • Formula patterns — inventories distinct formulas, repeated logic, inconsistent sequences, volatile functions and complex constructions. Isolated constants and candidate formula overrides are presented in context
  • Integrity — checks broken references, incomplete ranges, error propagation, circularity and calculation settings. Repeated symptoms are linked to their identified source where the dependency structure permits
  • Workbook surface — inspects defined names, hidden content, protection, external links and data connections. Missing sources and refresh dependencies are included in the coverage record
  • Grouped findings — combines related observations into review items. Priority reflects output criticality, dependency reach, recurrence and available evidence, with materiality settings controlled by the reviewer
  • Finding classification — separates demonstrated errors from review candidates and modelling choices accepted by the reviewer. Each classification retains the evidence or recorded judgement supporting it
  • Financial tests — checks statement reconciliations, roll-forwards, period alignment, debt balances and interest calculations against definitions and model blocks confirmed by the user
  • Controlled recalculation — runs selected input shocks or proposed corrections on a separate copy, using a compatible calculation environment. The baseline, changed inputs and resulting outputs are retained
  • Measured effects — compares recalculated outputs to the baseline and records financial differences. Each quantified effect is linked to the test performed and reported separately from static dependency findings
  • Version comparison — structural and formula differences across versions; moved ranges, rewritten logic and candidate overrides identified. Changes to source data are distinguished from changes in the calculation logic
  • Review register — records location, evidence, classification, priority, status and reviewer comments. Accepted exceptions carry a reason; resolved findings retain their correction and verification history
  • Support declaration — identifies VBA, queries, external data, dynamic references and other constructs affecting coverage. Unsupported calculations and unexecuted tests are stated in the report
  • Review record — maintains a versioned record of the inspected file, settings, test definitions and findings. Subsequent reviews identify new, unchanged and resolved items relative to the previous review

Output

Architecture map. Interactive dependency graph. Prioritised findings register. Financial test results. Recalculation comparisons. Version comparison. Review report with coverage statement. Excel export.

Suite links

Works independently on external and internally developed models. Reviews models adopted in MIES engagements and follows conventions shared with PROUVE. Examines valuation and planning models alongside TANGE and NERVI, with debt calculations cross-checked against BOOLE.

ANDO

Local document pseudonymisation gateway

Pseudonymises documents locally, applies consistent substitutions across files and restores original references in returned outputs.

Perimeter

Local detection, review, substitution and recomposition for DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, PDF, TXT, MD and CSV. The reviewed version is sent to configured external models; original documents and identity mappings remain local.

Reference standards

GDPR art. 4(5), pseudonymisation · ISO/IEC 27001 · ISO/IEC 20889, de-identification techniques · professional secrecy obligations

Presentation

Confidential information extends beyond visible names. It also appears in comments, document properties, workbook structure and distinctive combinations of facts. ANDO inspects supported content locally, presents proposed substitutions for review and creates a version prepared for external processing. Entities retain consistent tokens across an engagement, while the mapping remains in the local environment. Returned text is recomposed against that mapping and checked for unresolved references. Project profiles retain approved rules so the same treatment applies to subsequent files.

Scope

Preparation of confidential material for external language-model workflows and local recomposition of returned content. Client and engagement profiles govern the treatment of entities, figures, dates and document content. Standalone use across professional domains.

Use cases

Report drafting and review. Contract analysis. Due diligence. Data room summaries. Translation. Processing of client material under project-specific confidentiality rules. Consistent treatment across multiple documents and model providers.

Features

  • Pattern detection — applies defined patterns to identifiers, tax and company numbers, IBANs, contact details, addresses, URLs, dates and amounts within the supported document content
  • Entity recognition — identifies references to people, organisations, brands, places and roles using a local model. Proposed matches are presented in context for acceptance, rejection or amendment
  • Review — lists proposed substitutions and their occurrences. Users add missed terms, merge aliases, exclude references from substitution and approve the version prepared for external processing
  • Consistent tokens — maintains one approved token per entity across files in the project. Token types preserve the roles and references needed to interpret the material
  • Document layers — inspects metadata, comments, revisions and hidden content within each supported format. The coverage record identifies processed objects and content requiring separate review
  • Numeric and date treatment — applies selected amount scaling and date shifting. Each transformation declares which totals, ratios, intervals or other relationships it preserves and which it changes
  • Relationship checks — tests the relationships declared by the transformation profile. Deviations and unsupported checks are reported alongside the transformed material before it is approved
  • Format integrity — retains supported formatting, tables, numbering and links. Workbook checks compare formula structure and references before and after substitution; unexplained changes require review
  • Residual inspection — rescans the prepared version for remaining identifiers and flags distinctive combinations of facts. The reviewer can generalise, remove or retain the affected content
  • Project profiles — stores client and project dictionaries, aliases, transformation rules and prohibited terms. Profiles provide consistent treatment across new documents and recurring assignments
  • Model integration — routes the approved version to configured external models and receives the response. Identity mappings remain local across providers; occurrences of prohibited terms block transfer until addressed
  • Local mapping — holds mappings in session memory or stores them locally under an explicit retention setting. Persisted mappings are encrypted and subject to defined deletion rules
  • Recomposition — restores original references and reverses eligible numeric and date transformations locally. Unresolved tokens, altered references and values outside the declared reversal rules are listed for review
  • Batch processing — processes document sets under a shared approved mapping, with file-level coverage, substitution and integrity results. Repeated entities remain consistent across the set
  • Session record — records substitutions, review decisions, approved transfers, returned content and recomposition results. Logs remain available for the engagement file under the project retention rules
  • Local processing — detection, substitution, residual inspection and recomposition run offline without transmitting source content or mappings. External transfer occurs through the separately configured model connection

Output

Reviewed pseudonymised documents. Substitution register. Coverage and integrity results. Recomposed output with unresolved items. Project profile. Session log.

LOOS

Financial reporting language and document review

Revises terminology, wording and register in English and Italian financial reports, with tracked changes.

Perimeter

Italian and English. Local vector and rule base. Direct document revision, retrieval and validation, with terminology and style rules supporting contextual editing. Available independently and within the COASE reporting workflow.

Reference standards

IVS and IFRS glossaries · ISA and ISAE reporting formulations · PIV terminology

Presentation

The language of a financial report draws distinctions between what was observed, represented, calculated and estimated. LOOS checks those distinctions across the document and revises terminology, syntax and register while preserving the author’s intended meaning. It works directly on Word drafts, returning tracked changes and a record of each proposed amendment. Bilingual review preserves professional equivalence between Italian and English. Comparison of executive summaries and analytical sections identifies differences in wording, definitions and certainty, with unresolved questions of interpretation referred to the professional for a decision.

Scope

Terminology, fluency, register, attribution and internal linguistic consistency in professional documents. Source verification, model validation and the formation of professional conclusions remain outside its scope.

Use cases

Revision of valuation reports, due diligence reports, fairness opinions, business plans, independent business reviews, memoranda and board packs. Alignment of documents written by several authors. Italian-English translation and bilingual review. Definition and application of a house register.

Features

  • Domain lexicon — accounting, valuation, transactional and legal terms distinguished by context, including common terms that denote different technical concepts
  • Register — formality, distance, first-person usage, active and passive voice and institutional phrasing aligned across sections while retaining the author’s voice
  • Fluency — syntax, transitions, repetition, awkward constructions and translation artefacts revised while preserving the document’s approved structure and intended meaning
  • Certainty and attribution — wording checked against the stated status of evidence: verified, represented, calculated, estimated or unverified; changes in attribution and degree of certainty flagged
  • Professional formulations — findings, limitations, qualifications, recommendations and reliance language reviewed against document type, stated scope and usage conditions
  • Word revision — targeted amendments returned as tracked changes in the supplied Word document, preserving the author’s voice; comments identify passages requiring clarification or a professional decision
  • Amendment record — original wording, proposed wording, reason and applicable rule retained for each revision, with priority and document location
